Flora Toscana is one of the biggest cooperatives in Italy in the Flower and Horticultural sector. It counts over 120 growers based not only in Tuscany but also in other regions of Italy and abroad, all together producing a wide range of cut flowers-foliages and pot plants. Flora Toscana’s overall volume in 2016 has been over 32.000.000 €.
Flora Toscana has two core businesses:
- the supply of technical facilities, from which Flora Toscana began its activity back in 1979:
- the selling of cut flowers and pot plants.
The Flowers Foliage and Pot Plant production is sold through the following main channels :
- Italian Wholesale market;
- Italian Supermarket chains;
- 2 Cash and Carry for florists;
- Dutch and German Auctions;
- Export.
Flora Toscana is the only italian distributor of Fairtrade certified flowers in Italy. Flora Toscana’s pot production is Global Gap certified.
Flora Toscana has been proposing company in SUBARTIFLOR (2010-2013) – Messa a punto di substrati artificiali innovativi per il florovivaismo (New artificial substrates for floriculture and nurseries), a project funded by the Italian Ministry of Agriculture Flora Toscana took part in SUBINNOVA (2013-2014) – Substrati innovativi per piante da vaso fiorito (New substrates for flower pot plants), a project funded by Toscana Region.
